You can now pay your utility bill for the City of Ossian using a debit or credit card! You will need to have the account number (which is on your postcard) along with the amount you wish to pay. There is a fee of 2.65% of the amount you are paying with a minimum fee of $1.00. Please contact the City Clerk's office if you have any questions. 

As mandated by the state of Iowa, the City of Ossian is required to hold a public hearing for a proposed property tax levy for the FY24 budget. To see the information listed, you can click on the link below to see the public hearing notice.

Effective January 1, 2020 it will be legal to operate UTV and Golf carts on city streets, but to do so you must register them at the city clerk's office.  For further information call the city clerk at 563-532-8939 or go to the Printable Forms page here on our web-site where you will find both the registration form and the regulations.   

On January 1, 2016 an Urban Revitalization Plan became effective in the City of Ossian. 

The purpose of the plan is to offer property tax relief to qualified residential, commercial or industrial owners who increase the actual value of their property by at least 15% with new construction or improvements to property within the city limits. 

Prior to starting a project, an application describing the improvement, cost, etc. must be filed with the Ossian City Council for their approval.  The application can be found under the Forms Tab on this web-site.

Property owners planning improvements to their property are encouraged to contact the city clerk for further information.
